Gradekeeper is a powerful, easy to use gradebook program for the Macintosh.
You can use semesters, trimesters, quarters, or six-week terms. You can record scores for 48 students on 54 assignments in each term. You can group assignments into 10 categories. You can compute grades using total points or category weights. You can excuse any assignment for any student, or drop the worst score in any category. Your final exams can contribute to the term, semester, or final grade.
Gradekeeper is also very easy to use. With the default categories and options, you can start entering students, assignments, and scores right away. To change student names, assignments, or scores, simply click and type the new information. An extensive user’s guide is included (choose Gradekeeper Help from the menu).
I wrote Gradekeeper because I was unable to find an inexpensive grading program with the features I needed which was also easy to use. I hope Gradekeeper is able to fill that void for you as well.
Gradekeeper is distributed as shareware. It is not free. You may try this program for 30 days without obligation. If decide to continue using it, you are expected to pay the registration fee. For more about registering, click the Continue button in the reminder dialog.
When you register, you will receive a registration code which will eliminate those messages reminding you to register. You will also be able to register future versions of Gradekeeper at no additional cost. The registration fee is $20 for an individual license and $100 for a site license. Your check must be in U.S. dollars drawn on a U.S. or Canadian bank. Postal money orders are also acceptable.
You may distribute your unregistered copy of Gradekeeper to anyone. You may include it on a CD-ROM or upload it onto a BBS or other online service. If you give Gradekeeper to someone else, you must include all the files in the Gradekeeper folder. You may not modify the program in any way.
While Gradekeeper has proven very reliable, floppies are easily damaged and hard drives do sometimes fail. To avoid any risk of losing your grades at the worst possible time you should always keep a current backup of your data on another disk.
If you normally run Gradekeeper from a floppy, drag the disk icon onto your hard drive icon. This will create a folder on your hard drive which contains the program and your classes. If you normally run Gradekeeper from your hard drive, drag your class icons onto a disk icon.
Version 4.8 includes the following improvements:

• You can now export as HTML, allowing you to use the exported text as a web page.
